The moment from your story has a quite a good expression, but looking to your monochrome city .... maybe it isn't monochrome enough. I used to live in monochrome city so I perfectly know such feeling - no neons no variety in the shape of buildings. Just grey beton cubes, one similar to the others. No trees, no grass, just tarmac and beton. That was the reality of the late 80's in my city. Brrrrrr....
Ahh, just looking to the railing. I think it should looks sharper - faces and silhouettes in the distance are, so the railing should be as well.
Looking forward to your Happy days!!

Brandon : Thanks a bunch! coming from you it means a lot!
I dream of the day one of my silly stories will be turn into animation, just a dream for now..
btw, what's wrong with Jude?
Jane : ya, they know each other but only by sight; at this point, they're both surprised and embarrassed to meet at this reputedly infamous place...
Robert : hey! you're right, this city doesn't look monochrome at all; I was going for a more figurative meaning, a futuristic city without joy nor human warmness. I hope your city has changed since the 80's!
as for the railing, and the whole background actually, I was trying to mimic an animation still, sharp characters and more painterly BG; not sure it really works though.
Glad you liked my "happy days" piece, but I must say I don't think much good of it (that why it's only posted on DA! haha). well, i'll probably submit it someday..
Artoonator : well, the whole pic is optically flat, but i got your point; obviously, there's still much room for improvement.
